Banded Tube Dwelling Anemone (Isarachnanthus nocturnus) – Blue Heron Bridge, Riviera Beach, Fl
This was the photo that made me fall in love with photography at the Blue Heron Bridge. I had been diving with my dad, Bill, during our first attempts at photography in this spot. We chose the west side and slipped in – within the first few minutes, we found this Tube Dwelling Anemone waiting to greet us with open arms (pun intended). The colors and patterns covering this creature simply left me in awe. I came away from this first dive at BHB with other images, but none that left a bigger smile on my face than this one. Looking like a tiny replica of the Bellagio fountains, I worked for my photo, then simply watched the show – tentacles swaying through the current, grasping food particles and recoiling the meal into the central ‘mouth’.
