Duane Wreck – South of Molasses Reef, Tavernier, FL
‘The Duane was my first real look into wreck diving. At that young age I didn’t exactly know what to expect, however, after the dive was over and we sat at decompression depth, I knew right away that scuba diving was the real deal. I’ve always had a child-like fascination with the ocean – so when my father explained to me what the Duane was – a deep, large, borderline scary expedition – I couldn’t wait. This picture was the last image taken during that dive, while we waited at our decompression stop I began to realize the sensation of a real adventure setting in. This moment and the ones that preceded it sent me off on a journey of exploration searching for the feeling I was experiencing during this image.’
